Mission

History

Founded in 1975, Friends of Merrymeeting Bay (FOMB) utilizes a holistic approach, combining research, education, advocacy, and land conservation to preserve, protect, and improve the unique ecosystems of Merrymeeting Bay. With approximately 450 members, one staff person, and 120 volunteers contributing over 4,000 hours of service annually, we are the only conservation organization in the area implementing these diverse tactics to achieve environmental protection and the only local organization working to protect the Bay as a whole.
